My mother had the privilege of being a stay at home mom, even though she had a degree in interior design and a talent with flowers. She was always doing little projects with us; arts and crafts, items for our rooms and decor for the house. She taught us how to cut flowers for bouquets and arrangements for the dinner table or our rooms. Sometimes people would hire mom to make wreaths or bouquets for an event, or to be the florist for a wedding. Every time, mom would let ME help. She taught me how to turn every disaster into a masterpiece if i made a mistake. She always told me what a beautiful job i was doing, she taught me the tricks of the trade - how an odd number of flowers is more appealing to the eye than an even number. That its more artistic and exquisite that way. She is wonderful. I would get frustrated and she would compliment me and show me ways to make it work. Mom added special touches like specific curly branches or ribbon wrapped around the vase making something pretty - beautiful. Oh how i look up to her and her mad artistic skills! Two visits home ago last August, mom was busy being my cousins florist for her wedding!  I got to help her! Together with Aunties and cousins we prepared all the roses, created several boutonnieres and corsages and we made a number of centerpieces with beautiful white flowers of all kinds! Oh i loved it! And my mom... you should have seen her! She was running the show! She was boss man rehearsal day and before the wedding. She is my idol! Mom has instilled a passion of flowers into my heart. A Florist; a dream job of mine that i have not yet given up on!! I cant wait to have my own grarden so i can have the same experiences with my someday daughter as i did with my mother!
