Our Adventures Continue...

A few weeks ago Chris and I had two days off in a row together. AHH!!! We started it off by going on a whale watch! It was such a beautiful morning, perfect for being on a boat ride for 2 hours! We came upon a mama and it's baby right away! Ah, they were so cute! The baby was mimicking the mama! The other cool thing of that ride was when they turned off the boat and threw a mike in the water. Instantly we heard the most beautiful song. There was one whale surrounding the boat, we were all anxiously awaiting to be graced with it's presence. A few minutes later here rises this beautiful whale. He was maybe 10ish feet away, just gliding over and under the water. Ah what an experience. Later that day was the first time we snorkeled in Kaanapali in months!!! It felt wonderful!

The next day we went searching for a bamboo hike and just ended up walking on a trail that lead to dry waterfalls. Oh well. haha. I didn't really want to hike anyway! :) After that bombed, I have been wanting to go to Makawao for the longest time!  It is part of upcountry Maui. We walked up and down the main street checking out the shops and such. Darling little town, I totally want to go back there with some girlfriends to shop. As we were driving out of that town we stopped at Hookipa (where a lot of the professional surfers play as well as kite surfers) and ate our packed lunch. It was just so nice to have nothing to do, nowhere to go and just be together. We were having so much fun. Our last stop was in Wailuku to do some antique shopping for Mom in laws birthday. No luck, the shop was SO gross, and not many pretty things...So we moseyed our way back home to spend the rest of our evening with the Tiggs.

Plesant Surprises

Found on the Island.

Found in the Bathroom.

Found on the sink.

Found on the bed :)

Just the other day I had a selfish thought "Can't there be other days like Valentines day when my husband comes through the door with flowers, or writes me a note, or violently grabs me in public and gives me a passionate kiss in front of everyone all without a reminder?" Well, a few days after that thought I came home from a long day at work and found a message spelled out with candy hearts on the island. Then I raced to the bathroom and found another phrase on that counter. When I went to change, there were three hearts on the bed and two more by the kitchen sink. This was on February 4th. - 10 days before Valentines Day. My prince made me feel like I was on the top of his world and I was definitely on the top of mine. How could I have had such little faith?

My Boss..

My boss can't have kids. She will literally die if she has them. She has been pregnant once before and lost the baby. She is soo sweet, and yet has this anger stuck inside her, its like this leach tearing away at her heart. She is so sad it seems. She would long for a child, which is why they have considered other options but it all costs so much. Ah, I wish I could just pick up an orphan on the way to work and say, "Surprise! It's your daughter!!" I cannot imagine being in that position. Deep down I do think about it, and I do wonder what kind of experiences God has in store for us. She keeps her chin up. She comes to work and is gracious and kind. I pray the Lord will do something miraculous in their lives. It's hard to see people hurt.
