Aloha Maui, Until We Meet Again :)

Wow, where has the time gone.....last time I was on here I was all ambitious and stuff saying I was going to do the last thirty days in maui in photos and favs....opps. hah. So we have been SOOO busy with everything that consists of moving off an island and I have missed "my time" doing this. We have been working our little bums off but have made time to savor the island this last week. Here are our "Breaks" in phone photos. Enjoy!!! (Can you believe it?!?! 2 1/2 years ago we came here with 4 suitcases not knowing .....for adventure...now we have been here that long, gained life-long friends and family, shipping 5 suitcases and sent 12 boxes and bringing home 2 cats!!! Craaaazy! An Adventure I'll Say!!)
Contemplative....sunset on the lanai, after driving home from Hana.
Kai Rockin It center field. Got to go to three of his games :) Ended up being one of the most restful and enjoyable breaks.
After errands on the other side we went to Makena to relax..
The waves were AMAMAMZING.
my fav. the boys watching the baller waves.
Baked for the Moving Sale!!! All sold but some cookies!!
Patrick Unsure what to think of all this change...
our favorite..."Cilantro Grill" best fish tacos ever.
Sunset on Kaanapali.
We will miss this beach!

Patrick Helping Clean the Fridge :)
Before shipping the car at Kanaha Beach, Epic wind for kite surfing and sailing.

So we have made time to enjoy life out here amidst the hectic long list of "to-dos" this last week, although we will miss this ocean terribly, and the ones out here we love, we can't wait for this new step in our lives. Scary and exciting and new and just another adventure in the life of Chris and Katherine Evans. I can't wait to board that plane tomorrow. Thank you beautiful Island of Maui for taking us in. Praise be to God for this opportunity. Praise him for our strengthened marriage and friendship through it. Praise him for our two blessings - tigger and patrick. Praise him for The Bookland Clan, Ileta and Sofia and many others who made this place for us and taught us so much. Ocean I will miss your warmth, clarity, vibrant colors and your beauty. We will see you once again :) Some happy day!!! But for now....helllllooo San DIego!!! The Evans are in town!!!

Good Morning!

(My cousin Molly in Honduras)
This photo depicts how I feel lately..
pensive...

Life: A cat at each window, both fed and happy. Husband is in a deep glorious sleep.....and here am I. Enjoying the little moments I'll have until I need to do things that are far more important than blogging. Ha, but I'm not going there yet! Life has been sooo on the highway lately, going soo fast, barely stopping for traffic. I have so many things I want to get done wether it be for me or things that need to get done and just can't get caught up. I worked quite a bit this week. Today is 8 days in a row. I had 4 extra hours of work this week for training in coffee from a professional from Portland. Grateful for work,  but I'm tired and feel oh so behind. All I can think about doing is crafts :) hah. Peaceful things! I am going to be the best Granny EVER! hah. I hope I can match up to my Nanny someday. Always doing things, making things - food or gifts, gardening and canning the produce, needlework of every kind, always trying new recipes and going to the park to crab of course :) Those are the things I aspire to do. Right now, I am working at what I would like to call a Coffee Shop but It's far more labor than such. It's a market, in a hotel. So we get the complaints that don't relate to us..and we stock and stock and lift. There is an occasional coffee which I JUMP to make every time, although not much in the 80 plus degree weather. I love that it's local and organic based. I love the coffee - it's grown across the street, and roasted at OUR farm upcountry and is still really great coming from a washington coffee snob. Although the fact that it's a coffee shop, in maui, and it's 80 percent market and 10 percent food I am tired. hah. So thinking about the move coming up (that we are aware of where, just not the timeline yet :) ) I am trying to figure out the best job for me. I LOVE furniture and sales. You can look darling doing so too :) I still LOVE coffee - but not in a market (learned this one!) I have been asking my friends...coffee at starbucks where there is structure and rules (I crave this after being in Maui) or sales like Pier 1. I have been in the coffee business since I was 16, and NO that was not yesterday as some funny old people like to say. I am 24 now. When we move, I want to be able to get a job that I can stick with for at LEAST 5 years. I am the best at having a job per year or less than that....so I really want something I can stick with and excel in and feel confident in as well. hard. So this is going through my brain that felt sooo scary wierd yesterday as I was about to pass out at work...eeek. (random..but it was for sure my head..not lack of food or anything.) hah. soo random. Also I have been thinking about becoming a Young life Leader. I have been a leader at Wild horse Canyon and helped in Lynden's Young Life ages ago and just MISS the involvement of something I'm passionate about. LOVING others to Christ. and having FUN. So between a job, Young Life and Photography I should be a busy lady doing all the things I want to do. I talked to my cousin Molly the other day (in the photo) ahh It was the best thing all week. I adore her and miss her terribly. I am soo excited about what the Lord is doing in her life. She is going back to Honduras to work at the orphanage. SO proud of her. I want to go join her someday. It was great just to talk about the crazies and besties of life. good and the bad. happy and the confused. We always have these great, REAL talks. Refreshing.

Photography: I had a shoot the other day... :) It went GREAT! Although there are SOO many images I have to sort through my head is spinning. (Thats a good problem :) ) I am REALLY excited about these cards I am making for the job I have right now. The cards are blank, 100 percent recycled papers and labels with my photography on top, covered in plastic and hung by a hemp string! I can't WAIT to sell them and see MY photography being purchased by people. It's a great feeling. or it will be next week! I am hoping for more shoots this month since I have a feeling things are only going to get busier soon for moving and all...

Food: We haven't been eating much lately....coming home and being so tired and not hungry. So last night was the first real dinner in a while. Maui Cattle Steak, Corn and Baguette Slices. YUM :) Nothing gourmet but I was CRAVING the meat. A while ago I made penne for the FIRST time :) It was AMAZZZING. So speaking about food....I am beginning to loose weight! I mainly have been adjusting my eating habits. I eat breakfast now and it's all amazingly well for me. Lunch is a tiny half sandwich - wheat with meat and cheese and veggies and salad. Dinner is a lean meat and salad or veggie. and No dessert. Coffees are no longer lattes but black coffees and teas. I am on day 8 of work and i am not SOO tired or sleepy or cranky (not like i normally would be) - i think it's because I'm eating so healthy. I am excited! Now I just have to work out! hah. This is all too exciting!
Our Penne Tomato Meal :)

Crafts: I have a pattern for a slouch beanie I want to make for myself :) I want to make a forever scarf but I don't have a sewing machine. :(  sooon! I also have a picture I want to paint! A wreath I want to sew as well! ahhh although I don't think these things will happen for a while, I think of them when I am crazy busy :)
(my version of this :) )

Husband: Is amazing. He is soo great at what he does. I am excited for what his company holds for him. We went out with another couple the other day for a beer after work, it was GREAT! I can't wait to do it again. Chris and I had a good time. He and I have Superbowl sunday off! I can't wait to spend it with him and at our Maui Families Home! He has today off as I work - so thats some great alone time for him. AHH I think he looks SOOOOO sexy in these glasses!!! What do you think?!
im, so sexy for my glasses :)

Grace...I desperately need to know how to give it. Or when is it needed to give?

Ok, It's my neighbors. I know I need to give Grace when they are partying until 5:47AM. Or do I?? I know I need to give Grace when they so carelessly threw their nasty pants in the dryer with my whites after i spent a good two dollars of my earnings for laundry just to get them a lil dry. Or do I??? I know I need to give Grace after I know they beat the crap out of this girl and have to assume they won't do it again, their still good people. Or should I even? What would Jesus do, really guys?!? I Just DESPISE my neighbors. I think they should Rot in Hell just for the abuse...but the other things just REALLY piss me off. I have stirred up soo much anger toward them that it's probably not heathy for me. haha. I cannot wait until we can move into a home - in a neighborhood...where at least people have to follow the rules or eviction. I can't stand 24/7 pot heads and drunkards....AHH HElp?!?!? Any verses anyone that has to do with this that maybe you have needed to use in the past?! Well Cheers to those with crappy neighbors...may you get rest, may you have clean laundry and may you never witness woman abuse.

Won't You Guide Us? ....Update.

Star of Wonder, Star of Light,
Star of Royal Beauty Bright,
Guide us, Guide us,
Won't you Guide us? - Sara Groves

This is our prayer lately, as we are SO unsure of what our future brings. We had a plan. That was to get off this island as soon as possible. Recently we figured we can only do that by moving with debt and moving to a place that is not our number one destination. Soo as my Dad said "It sounds like your light bulb just went on!" hah. Yes, there is a new plan. It is to not settle. We are staying in Maui until May to get debt free as well as have enough money to move. In February we are taking a trip to California. It will be to check it out and see if we like it and if we are able to find what we want there. As we decide that we do or don't like this number one destination we will move May first to either California or Colorado if CA doesn't pan out, because we know they have what we want already - minus the ocean. So this is what you all have been waiting for...an answer I'm sure none of you like. An answer that isn't even a solid answer. This is Chris' and my adventure. We are doing what is best for us and our family. That may sound super selfish and maybe it is but we still are in contact with our dearest and yet we are doing what we want to do as husband and wife. We would both highly appreciate prayer if you think of it. Prayer for clarity in a location. Prayer for the finances to flood in through shoots or what have you. Prayer that we continue to want what God wants for us. We have steered away from things just due to the fact we felt they wern't right...taking them as signs from the Lord. It's hard, not knowing. It's hard knowing we have to go into a new year in this place. Please just pray for happy hearts. We need them. Here it is easy for us not to be happy, even though no outsider can fathom that being so in "paradise".  We thank you for all the prayers and the support. Love you all - I will still be visiting in November as my Best Friend Sarah had her baby - thats what the trip was for in the first place. Chris and I in February might be stopping in Bellingham so he can see his people before our cali road trip. Well for now? This is our plan, But who knows what God thinks about that :) Love and hugs and kisses!

Be still, my pounding heart.

(When I tried to think of something peaceful - playing the piano
in an open field filled with wildflowers came to mind..)

fire across the street tonight...in a few spots..our house wreaks of smoke..totally rocked - hands shaking and my heart is pounding even though everything is totally fine and I think the firemen got it. Carried Tigger around everywhere, and didn't even care about getting anything out of the house..thought about certain things like my Nannys turquoise ring - then my heart sunk like I let it go. I feel like puking. Ahhh please pray that the fires stop? and that I can have trust that everything is ok? trust and faith in God? ps I think they are stopped but I guess this happened the other day. eeekkk I don't like this stupid island.

The simple things in life.

The other night was probably one of the worst ones in my history. After my last night of work at Ono Gelato, Chris picked me up and was just as sweet as ever. His words were kind, his mood tender and his voice quiet and calm. He asked me what was the matter and I told him. He was there for me. He was fighting on my behalf. He was being my prince. We pulled up to the house and at the doorstep was a package. I then checked the mail and found two more packages. Getting packages is probably my most favorite thing ever, and I SOO needed them. The first was from Aunt Vicki. It was a Willow Tree Statue that held a wire balloon saying "miss you". SOO sweet and thoughtful. Then from Mom. She sent me a pineapple wind chime that she had made years ago, oh my I love it!! She wrote a really nice card as well, at this point my heart was a little less droopy. The third package was from Sam Gardner sending me Photoshop CS3! I have been trying to figure a way to get it after my computer crashed without spending money and or hacking it off the internet and once he heard he sent it right away. There is hope in the world of kind people! I have to show you the treats!

Mom MADE this.
